How is Intuitive Listening Different than Therapy?

An Intuitive Listener is not a psychiatrist, psychologist, or medical professional. Unlike some of these professions, a Listener will not label or diagnose you with a ‘condition’, give treatment or judgement on your situation. Professional listening is a chance to talk to someone who will listen openly, who will empathize with what you are saying, and who will be actively present to hold space for you. A Listener is  a mirror that helps reflects yourself back to you.

Why Hire An Intuitive Listener

Your Listener can offer peace of mind and clarity when you need it most.

You might feel that you don't really need therapy, but are frustrated with life in some way. Consulting a psychologist or psychotherapist may seem a bit too extreme. However, speaking with friends and family doesn't feel like the answer either –you may have issues that relate specifically to them. Those who are closest to you may have subconscious motives and respond in ways that validate their position rather than helping you. Maybe you don't want to burden your loved ones with your worries. Perhaps you are aware of a possible underlying current of competition when consulting with friends.

People hire a Professional Listener to be heard for some of the following reasons:

  • Feeling depressed or lonely

  • Brainstorming sessions

  • Feeling like life is spiraling out of control

  • General venting session

  • Grief support

  • Seeking to unload internal emotions

  • Practice audience for forms of public address
